sr. Mechanical Engineer

Roshanian and Associates (RA) is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, and innovative individual for a Lead Mechanical Engineer position that can demonstrate the successful delivery of detailed mechanical design packages on medium to large scale capital projects. This person will be responsible for coordinating with internal and external architects and engineers, as well as clients, construction managers, subcontractors, commissioning agents and vendors. Project types will be educational, commercial, multi-residential and hospitality, including both existing building renovations/retrofits and new construction. In addition, the qualified candidate should have proven ability to handle multiple complex tasks and have business and personnel management skills including the ability to establish and manage priorities and assist to market services to clients.

Job Responsibilities:
Developing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems philosophies and plans
Developing specifications
Developing feasibility and site analyses study,
Performing temperature / humidity control / HVAC and utility load calculations
Developing airflow diagrams, pressurization plans, and classification
Developing ductwork and piping plans
Developing building management system (BMS) control philosophy, details, Sequence of Operations
Performing construction assistance in the form of submittal reviews, RFI responses, and field visits to verify construction of Mechanical / Plumbing/ Fire Protection scope is executed per the intent of the design and assisting in start-up of systems when required.
Directing activities of REVIT/ AutoCAD Designer and support staff as well as use Revit/AutoCAD and modeling programs as necessary
Contributing to discipline related content for proposals (e.g. scope, deliverables, fee, and schedule).
Traveling as required for client development and project execution.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
8-15 years of experience required, much of this preferably in a design firm setting
P.E. Registration is required
Working knowledge and skills required with software: AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Energy Pro, MS Office (Excel, word, etc.).
Excellent verbal and written Communication skills
LEED Accredited professional preferred
Experience in educational projects and DSA submittal/approval process is required.
Ability to lead a project and design effort from a mechanical perspective (from concept design through start-up)
In addition to the basic qualifications listed, the successful candidate shall possess the skills required to successfully develop and execute project tasks and deliverables, be a collaborative team player, and have a strong drive to deliver a quality project to customers.
Engineering capabilities required include the ability to develop and implement engineering and design concepts for HVAC, hydronic piping, compressed gases, plumbing, and fire protection systems, as well as a thorough understanding of the development of construction documents through conceptual, preliminary, detailed, and construction package stages (SD, DD, CD, CA), specifications, etc.

Electrical Engineer

Our Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing Engineering firm is seeking a key individual for the position of Electrical Engineer. The ideal person can perform all Electrical Engineer design responsibilities for a project from conception to completion and will welcome new challenges. The person will be heavily involved in the design, engineering and project management of various project types, including: educational, commercial, tenant improvements and office buildings

Qualifications:
Capable of performing and Design lighting, power, fire alarm and low voltage systems.
Documentation and filing of project information for tasks assigned.
Coordinate with and direct designers.
Coordinate with other design team members handling other trades.
Client communications as directed by Senior Engineer/Principal .

Knowledge and experience:
5 to 10 years of Electrical design experience
Must Have Software skills: AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, MS Office; Word and Excel.
Must Have Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Software skills: EnergyPro, Navis, AGI., Dapper
P.E. is a plus!!
Professional, attention to detail, highly accurate work, good organizational skills, productivity and follow through, etc.
Ability to work with different personalities and varying levels of experience in the firm.

Mechanical Engineer

Our Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing Engineering firm is seeking a key individual for the position of Mechanical Engineer. The ideal person can perform all Mechanical Engineer design responsibilities for a project from conception to completion and will welcome new challenges.

The person will be heavily involved in the design, engineering and project management of various project types, including: educational, commercial, tenant improvements and office buildings. The person must be able to perform all Mechanical engineering design responsibilities for a project from conception to completion including design of Mechanical and Plumbing engineering calculations, load calculations, LEED compliance, and Title 24 analysis, Documentation and filing of project information for tasks assigned, Coordination with and direct designers, Coordination with other design team members handling other trades, and client communications as directed by the Senior Engineer.

Knowledge and experience:
5 to 10 years of Mechanical design experience
Must Have Software skills: AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, EnergyPro, MS Office; Word and Excel.
Must Have Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Software skills: Fire Protection Software’s
P.E. is a plus!!

Mechanical Designer

The ideal person can perform all HVAC and Plumbing design responsibilities for a project from conception to completion and will welcome new challenges. The person will be heavily involved in the design and engineering of various project types, including: educational, commercial, tenant improvements, office buildings, central plants.

Qualifications:
3 to 15 years of HVAC and Plumbing design experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Word, and Excel.
Revit Experience is desirable.
BSME is desirable, but not required

Desired Skills:
Understand proper scope of SD, DD, CD level documents and deliver appropriate documentation.
Perform engineering calculations, load calculations, LEED compliance, and Title 24 analysis.
Perform necessary analysis for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
Select and schedule equipment with limited oversight by senior staff.
Properly lay out all air and water side systems on working drawings.
Coordinate HVAC and Plumbing requirements with other design disciplines.
Develop sections and elevations of complex ductwork and piping areas.
Determine equipment room sizes and system space requirements during SD and DD phases.
Meet with vendors to determine specification requirements for application.

ELECTRICAL DESIGNER

The ideal person can perform all Electrical Designer design responsibilities for a project from conception to completion and will welcome new challenges. The person will be heavily involved in the design and engineering of various project types, including: educational, commercial, tenant improvements and office buildings.

Qualifications:
Capable of performing some or most of the basic design tasks as requested.
Design lighting, power, fire alarm and low voltage systems with minimum assistance from engineer.
CAD/BIM/REVIT drafting.
Team work, trains and mentors CAD/BIM staff
Documentation and filing of project information for tasks assigned.
Client communications is occasional, as directed by Project Engineer/Manager.

Knowledge and experience:
2 to 5 years of Electrical design experience
Must Have Software skills: AutoCAD, MS Office; Word and Excel.
Must Have Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Software skills: EnergyPro, Navis, AGI.
Professional, attention to detail, highly accurate work, good organizational skills, productivity and follow through, etc.
Ability to work with different personalities and varying levels of experience in the firm.

Project Engineer

To perform all electrical engineering design responsibilities for a project from conception to completion including design of lighting, power, fire alarm and low voltage systems.

Education and Experience Requirements:
BS in Electrical Engineering and minimum 10-month exp. as engineer utilizing AutoCAD, REVIT, Energy Pro, SKM, AGI and Bluebeam.
